With its research divisions Polymeric Materials and Composites PYCO in Wildau, the Center for Applied Nanotechnology CAN in Hamburg and the research units Functional Polymer Systems and Synthesis and Polymer Technology in Potsdam, the Fraunhofer IAP is excellently positioned to answer upcoming research questions on hydrogen as an energy carrier and to help shape the corresponding value chains.
Starting with customized material design, the corresponding semi-finished product development up to the full-scale manufacturing process of high-performance composite components, technical solutions can be offered and developed, especially in the focus areas of hydrogen production and storage.
In addition, the Fraunhofer IAP has the necessary expertise to develop nanoscale catalysts and is able to provide large quantities of high-quality material systems by means of suitable manufacturing methods for upscaling.
