Technische Universität Dresden is one of the largest technical universities in Germany and one of the leading and most dynamic universities in Germany. As of 1 November 2019, TU Dresden will receive permanent funding within the framework of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments. One focus of the TU Dresden lies in the research priority area Energy, Mobility and Environment, in which the hydrogen research can be integrated. Since 2020, TU Dresden concentrates and coordinates its activities in the hydrogen research to benefit from synergies inside and outside TU Dresden as well as to jointly empower the scientific location Saxony in the area of hydrogen-based systems by excellent research. In particular, focus topics of TU Dresden concerning hydrogen are fundamental research on hydrogen production and sensor development as well as applied research for mobility, for integrated energy and for innovative materials. Furthermore, one focus lies on the interdisciplinary research that comprises safety analyses, risk and acceptance studies as well as techno- and socio-economic assessment of processes.
