Overview

With the HZwo: India-Start project, HZwo e. V. is establishing a strategic partnership with the Pune Hydrogen Valley in India. The initiative aims to support Indian companies and cluster stakeholders in the field of green hydrogen and its derivatives while strengthening bilateral cooperation along the hydrogen value chain.

Through India’s National Hydrogen Mission, green hydrogen has been identified as a key driver of industrial transformation. While ambitious Hydrogen Valleys are emerging across the country, many still require structured governance models, sustainable technology concepts and expertise in cluster development. As a well-established hydrogen cluster in Germany, HZwo contributes its experience in cluster and member management, technology transfer and industry-oriented networking.

The project focuses on cooperation with the Pune Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster, a model ecosystem supported by the Indian government. Joint activities include strengthening organizational structures, implementing expert exchanges and supporting pilot projects along the hydrogen value chain. Key highlights are mutual delegation visits, technical workshops and the organization of an HZwo India Summit.

Planned dates:

  • HZwo delegation visit to Pune: 22–26 February 2026
  • Return visit of the Indian delegation to Chemnitz: 27–30 April 2026

HZwo members as well as interested companies and research institutions are invited to actively participate in the HZwo events, workshops and networking activities taking place during the delegation visits and to contribute their expertise and project ideas.

The long-term objective is to establish a sustainable strategic association partnership between HZwo e. V. and the Pune Hydrogen Valley, creating tangible benefits for German SMEs and Indian companies alike. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via the sequa fund for preparatory and accompanying measures.
