We are pleased to invite you to an international side event during the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg.
This event will bring together companies, technology developers, industry experts, and innovation partners from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany who are actively involved in the development and industrialization of electrolyser technologies and hydrogen solutions. Through inspiring pitches and dedicated networking opportunities, participants will explore new collaboration opportunities and contribute to the growth of a strong international hydrogen ecosystem.
From Regional Cooperation to an International Hydrogen Network
What started as an exchange between Brabant and Baden-Württemberg in 2025 has evolved into a growing international partnership. A second meeting in Brabant in February 2026 welcomed partners from Saxony and Bavaria. This third event in Hamburg further expands the network with the participation of North Rhine-Westphalia and Belgian partners.
The next exchange meeting is planned in Bavaria during the first half of 2027. Together, these regions are creating a solid foundation for joint innovation projects and participation in European programmes such as Horizon Europe.
Our Ambition
Together with companies from Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Belgium and Brabant, we are building an international ecosystem focused on developing cost-effective technologies that enable the large-scale adoption of green hydrogen.
Our ambition is to establish a robust international collaboration in which partners create mutual value, strengthen their hydrogen ecosystems, and accelerate technological innovation together.
Key Technology Challenges
The successful transition to a hydrogen-based economy depends on improving the cost and efficiency of hydrogen production. Therefore, we focus on:
- Making green hydrogen production more affordable and efficient.
- Reducing the use of scarce raw materials in electrolyser and fuel cell technologies.
- Extending component lifetime through, for example, advanced thin-film technologies, including Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition (S-ALD).
- Developing next-generation electrolysers and components that fit within existing manufacturing infrastructures.
- Accelerating the industrial scaling of innovative hydrogen technologies.
